Tris(1-phenyl-isoquinoline) iridium(III) is a material that can be used in transistors. It has a red shift in the light emission and can be modulated by an electric field. Tris(1-phenyl-isoquinoline) iridium(III) emits fluorescent light when it absorbs photons with energies greater than or equal to 3.2 eV. It also has dispersive properties, which means that it does not emit light equally in all directions but rather in a series of cones called Lambertian emission.
