Tiquizium bromide is an experimental drug that has been shown to have a potent anti-inflammatory effect in animal models. The drug was tested as a potential treatment for detrusor muscle dysfunction and found to be effective, with a side effect profile similar to famotidine. Tiquizium bromide inhibits the production of hydrochloric acid by inhibiting acetylcholine release from parasympathetic nerves and may also inhibit the inflammatory response by preventing leukocyte migration. Tiquizium bromide has not been studied in humans, but it is thought that this drug could be used as an alternative therapy for inflammatory diseases such as asthma or colitis.
