Description :
5,6,7,8-Tetrahydroquinolin-8-ol is a catalytic asymmetric chiral thioether. It is a reaction intermediate in the synthesis of 8-hydroxyquinoline and 8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives. This compound has been shown to react with azide, acetylide, malonate, anions such as chloride or bromide ions, alkylating agents such as phenyl boronic acid, halides such as chlorine or bromine atoms, and ligands such as tetrafluoroborate ion. 5,6,7,8-Tetrahydroquinolin-8-ol also reacts with carbonyl groups such as ketones and esters to form acetals and ketals respectively. 5,6,7,8-Tetrahydroquinolin-8-ol can also be used to synthesize 2-(2'-aminoethyl)th
