Z-Tyr-Ome is a synthetic molecule that has been shown to have enantioselective nucleophilic attack on the carboxy terminal hydroxy group of a protonated amide. The reaction time, reaction yield, and activation energy were determined using mathematical modeling and kinetic data. This process was found to be amenable to preparative scale synthesis by immobilizing the reactant on a solid surface. Mathematical modeling and kinetic data were obtained for the Z-Tyr-Ome reaction in micelles as well.
