• Description: Bis(2,3,3,3-Tetrachloropropyl) ether (BTPE) is a chlorinated hydrocarbon that has been used as an antimicrobial agent in the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections. BTPE has been shown to inhibit growth of bacteria at low concentrations and to be effective against strains resistant to other antibiotics. BTPE is also used in analytical chemistry as a solvent for organic compounds and can be used to extract terminal residues from surfaces.
