Description :
4,5,6,7-Tetrafluoroindole is a sterically bulky chemical that can form hydrogen bonds and formylations with DNA. It has been shown to be useful in the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the detection of mutations. 4,5,6,7-Tetrafluoroindole has been used as a stabilizing agent in PCR reactions. The steric interactions between 4,5,6,7-tetrafluoroindole and DNA stabilize duplexes by preventing mismatches and destabilizing mismatched duplexes. Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is an organic solvent that has been used to solubilize 4,5,6,7-tetrafluoroindole during its use in PCR reactions.
