Description

D-1,2,3,4-Tetrahydronorharman-3-carboxylic acid (DHN-3C) is a natural product that belongs to the group of syringic acids. It has been used as an antiasthmatic medicine and is found in the campanulaceae plant family. DHN-3C has been shown to have bronchial relaxant effects by inhibiting the release of histamine from mast cells in guinea pigs. This drug also inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2, which may be responsible for its bronchodilatory effects.
