1,3,4,6-Tetrathiapentalene-2,5-dione is a heterocyclic compound with the molecular formula CHN. It has two functional groups: an amine group and a keto group. The keto group is used in the synthesis of other molecules. The reaction product of 1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene-2,5-dione with methyl alcohol is a reactive intermediate that can be alkylated or uv irradiated to produce another molecule. This chemical ionization technique has been used to study the structure of the molecule and its tautomeric forms.
