Trimethoxy[3-(phenylamino)propyl]silane is a chemical compound that is stable in acidic environments. It has been used as a particle in the preparation of samples for mass spectrometry, and has been shown to be carcinogenic. Trimethoxy[3-(phenylamino)propyl]silane reacts with magnesium salt to form a white precipitate. This product can also be used to prepare chlorine atoms by reacting it with hydrogen chloride gas. It has a thermal expansion coefficient and an industrial use as an industrial chemical. Trimethoxy[3-(phenylamino)propyl]silane is hydrolyzed into 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane under basic conditions, and can react with water vapor to form ammonia gas (NH3). This molecule has been found in the IR spectra of antibiotics such as erythromycin and tetracycline.
