Description

4-(Trifluoromethoxy)benzyl cyanide is an organic compound that belongs to the class of chlorinating agents. It has been shown to be a terminal oxidant for the oxidative coupling of alcohols, phenols, and amines. 4-(Trifluoromethoxy)benzyl cyanide has also been used as an oxidant in the cyanation of alkenes and alkynes. This compound is commercially available as a solution in acetonitrile with ammonium chloride added as a stabilizer.
