Description

Triptophenolide is an alkaloid extracted from the Chinese herb Tripterygium wilfordii. It has been demonstrated to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of prostaglandin E2 and other inflammatory mediators. Triptophenolide also has a pharmacokinetic study that was conducted in healthy volunteers, which showed that it was absorbed quickly after oral administration and had a short half-life. The toxicological studies showed a lack of toxicity when administered at high doses.
