Description

Tenacissoside G is a saponin that has been extracted from the Chinese herbs, Tenacissus trifoliata and Acanthopanax senticosus. It has been found to have antitumor activity by inhibiting the growth of cancer cells. Tenacissoside G has also been shown to inhibit the production of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and its receptor in human keratinocytes. The pharmacokinetic study showed that Tenacissoside G was absorbed quickly after oral administration, with a peak concentration observed at 1-2 hours after administration. The analytical method for Tenacissoside G is HPLC with UV detection at 254 nm and 280 nm.
