Tripotassium Hexafluoroferrate is an inorganic compound that has the chemical formula K[Fe(CN)6]·3H2O. It is a salt of potassium hexafluoroferrate and hydrolyzes to form potassium hydroxide and ferric nitrate in water. The product is used as a catalyst for the synthesis of acrylic acid from acetic acid. The product also functions as a radiation absorber, which can be seen through its reaction with aluminium. Tripotassium Hexafluoroferrate can be used for the treatment of acidic solutions, such as hydrochloric acid, by converting the acid into deionized water. This process can also be done using hydrophobic substances such as paraffin wax or activated charcoal.
