Description :
2,3,5,6-Tetrafluorobenzonitrile is an aromatic hydrocarbon that can be activated with a strong base. It reacts with sodium nitrate in the presence of an organic solvent to produce 2-chloro-1,3,5,6-tetrafluorohexane and hydrochloric acid. The reaction rate is dependent on the concentration of chloride ions. 2,3,5,6-Tetrafluorobenzonitrile is used in a variety of industrial processes such as the synthesis of dyes and pharmaceutical products.
