Tris(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl) phosphate is a highly reactive chemical that is used as an additive in organic solvents. It can be used to form ternary mixtures with fluorophosphate and acetonitrile. Tris(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl) phosphate has been shown to have high vapor pressure at temperatures from -73°C to 67°C. This compound also undergoes an exothermic reaction with acetonitrile at temperatures of 60°C and higher. The viscosity of tris(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl) phosphate increases with increasing concentration or temperature. Tris(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl) phosphate has a constant boiling point of 117°C at atmospheric pressure and 134°C under vacuum.
