2,3,5,6-Tetrafluoro-4-(Trifluoromethyl)benzoyl fluoride (TFB) is a fluorinated aromatic compound that is used as an intermediate in the production of other fluorinated compounds. TFB hydrolyzes in water to release hydrogen fluoride and 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzaldehyde. TFB may also be used as a starting material for the synthesis of other fluorinated compounds such as trifluoroacetic acid and hexafluoropropene. It can also be used in the production of chlorofluorocarbons.
