5-(2-Trifluoroacetylaminohexafluoroprop-2-Yl)-2'-Deoxyuridine is a modified form of uridine that is synthesized by reacting trifluoroacetyl chloride with 2'-deoxyuridine. 5-(2-Trifluoroacetylaminohexafluoroprop-2-Yl)-2'-Deoxyuridine has been shown to inhibit the replication of viruses such as human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) and hepatitis C virus (HCV). 5-(2-Trifluoroacetylaminohexafluoroprop-2-Yl)-2'-Deoxyuridine also inhibits the synthesis of RNA in cells and has been shown to be effective against bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and Staphylococcus aureus.
