Undecane-1,11-diol is a phenothiazine that belongs to the class of primary alcohols. It has a hydroxyl group as well as a hydroxy group, which are responsible for its hydrophobic properties. The molecule also contains an asymmetric synthesis. The biphenyl skeleton and ionisation mass of this compound are homologous to other compounds in this family. This substance is used as an additive in various products, such as triticum aestivum (wheat) flour, and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis at high concentrations.
