Informations sur le produit
Uroguanylin is a peptide that is used as an excipient or cryoprotectant in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals. It also has been shown to have prophylactic and therapeutic effects on a variety of diseases, including infectious, inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic diseases. Uroguanylin binds to the G-protein coupled receptors for guanylate cyclase-C (GC-C) and guanylate cyclase-A (GC-A), which are found in the intestine, kidney, lung, heart, brain and other organs. This binding increases intracellular levels of cGMP. The increased cGMP causes relaxation of smooth muscle cells in the gastrointestinal tract and bronchi; it also inhibits inflammation by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α. In addition to its effects on smooth muscle cells, uroguanylin has been shown to inhibit cancer cells from dividing by blocking protein synthesis through inhibition
