Description :
6-vinylnaphthalen-2-ol is a protonation agent that can be applied in olefin alkylation reactions. It can also be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of alkylation agents. The sequential and regiospecific olefination of 6-vinylnaphthalen-2-ol has been studied and the hydroarylation of this compound has been demonstrated. Recent advances have been made in the friedel alkylation reaction with 6-vinylnaphthalen-2-ol, which may lead to new methods for producing quinones.
