Description

N-Valerylglycine is a fatty acid with a nitrogen group on the amino group. It is synthesized by the human body and has been found to act as a receptor molecule in the human metabolism. N-Valerylglycine has been shown to be present in urine samples, which can be used for diagnosis of metabolic disorders such as dehydrogenase deficiency. N-Valerylglycine also reacts with acylation reagents to form esters, which are detectable using gas chromatography. The sensitivity of this analytical method makes it suitable for use with low concentrations of N-Valerylglycine.
