Description

Vanadyl sulfate is a compound that contains the metal vanadium. It has been shown to have anion radical scavenging properties, which may be due to its coordination geometry and high affinity for oxygen. Vanadyl sulfate also has hypoglycemic effects and can reduce blood glucose levels in rats. Vanadyl sulfate has also been shown to have toxic effects on various experimental models, including rats, mice, and rabbits. The toxicity of vanadyl sulfate is dependent on the dose of the drug given to the animal model.
