Description

Withanoside IV is a natural compound that is found in the roots of Withania somnifera, an Indian plant used in traditional medicine. It has been shown to inhibit the production of amyloid-β (Aβ) and decrease neuronal death by inhibiting toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). This compound also has neurotrophic effects and promotes axonal growth in vitro. Withaferin A, another component of W. somnifera, also has neuroprotective properties and has been shown to promote neuronal function.
