Description

Lutein is a carotenoid found in leafy green vegetables. It is the most abundant carotenoid in the human retina, where it may play a role in preventing age-related macular degeneration. Lutein has been shown to protect against lipid peroxidation and reactive oxygen species, which are associated with cell damage and cancer. Lutein also has antioxidant properties that help to prevent oxidative stress and reduce inflammation. This product is 95% pure lutein extracted from marigold flowers by solvent extraction.
