Description :
2-Bromo-5,6,8,9-tetrahydrobenzocyclohepten-7-one is a synthetic antitussive that has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the cough reflex in research studies. It inhibits the production of acetylcholine in the body by blocking the receptor for acetylcholine on nerve cells. The 2-bromo-5,6,8,9-tetrahydrobenzocyclohepten-7-one also blocks receptors for histamine and serotonin.
