Informations sur le produit
2,5-Bis(benzyloxy)benzaldehyde is an aldol that is obtained by the condensation of benzaldehyde with acetone in the presence of a base. This reaction produces two molecules of 2,5-bis(benzyloxy)benzaldehyde. It has been used in the synthesis of flavanones and natural products. 2,5-Bis(benzyloxy)benzaldehyde has a x-ray structure that revealed an intramolecular aldol cyclization. This compound also has substituents at C2 and C3, which are bioisosteres. The 2,5-bis(benzyloxy)benzaldehyde is also bioactive due to its ability to inhibit certain enzymes such as xanthine oxidase and cyclooxygenase.
