Description

Cyclohexyl propionate is a monoethyl ether that is used as a solvent in pharmaceutical preparations and detergent compositions. It has been shown to be effective against skin cells, which are the main cause of skin irritation. Cyclohexyl propionate inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to fatty acids on the cell membrane, making it more permeable to water and antimicrobial agents. Cyclohexyl propionate has also been shown to have low toxicity in humans and animals, making it an excellent choice for use in sample preparation and microcapsules. Cyclohexyl propionate also has cationic surfactant properties, which may help solubilize hydrophobic compounds such as unsaturated alkyl chains or fatty acids.
