Azabicyclo[2.2.2]octane-3-amine (ABO) is a drug that belongs to the group of antipsychotic medications and is used in the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases such as asthma, psoriasis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. Its therapeutic effect may be due to its ability to bind to the neurokinin-1 receptor, which is involved in inflammation and pain. The compound also has antipsychotic effects by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain. It has been shown that ABO can be synthesized using chromatographic methods and that it has high stereoselectivity. The enantiomers are separated by HPLC with hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC).
