Informations sur le produit
- 2-Amino-6-methylpyrimidine-4-thiol
- 4-Pyrimidinethiol, 2-Amino-6-Methyl-
2-Amino-6-methyl-pyrimidine-4-thiol (2AP) is a cyclization reaction product of 2,6-dimethylpyrimidine and thiourea. It has fungicidal activity due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of nucleic acids. The cyclization reaction is intramolecular, leading to a six membered ring that can be hydrolyzed into two molecules of pyrimidine. 2AP inhibits the production of protein by inhibiting RNA synthesis and DNA replication in fungi. This product also inhibits the growth of bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics and fungicides. The target compounds for these pathways are 2,6-dimethylpyridinium ions and chlorides or bromides.
