Description

Hydrocortisone 21-propionate is a synthetic corticosteroid that is used to treat inflammatory diseases. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects by inhibiting the release of proinflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF). Hydrocortisone 21-propionate also reduces the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes in tissues and cells. This drug may be used for the treatment of conditions such as prostatic hypertrophy, asthma, ulcerative colitis, and arthritis. It is also used in cancer therapy as an immunosuppressant agent. Hydrocortisone 21-propionate can be found in organic solvents such as acetone or chloroform. This drug may also be used for cell therapies or bone mass maintenance therapies due to its ability to stimulate the growth of new bone tissue.
