Description

Propetamphos is a pesticide that has been used as an insecticide for the control of termites and cockroaches. Propetamphos is a member of the pyrazole family of chemicals, which are used as pesticides. It is also known to be toxic to mammals and other organisms. There have been many studies done on the effects of propetamphos in chronic exposure and sublethal doses. These studies have shown that it has no significant effects on acetylcholinesterase inhibition or gsh-px activities in rats, but does inhibit ryanodine receptor activity. The toxicity of propetamphos is also studied by exposing test samples to high levels of resistance bacteria and observing the effects on their growth rates. Results show that at a concentration of 400 ppm, there is no significant difference between untreated group and treated group.
