Description :
2-methyl-1-benzofuran-7-carboxylic acid is a difluoroborane that can be synthesized in two steps from 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol. It exhibits good catalytic activity and stability in the presence of activated metals and metal halides. 2-Methyl-1-benzofuran-7-carboxylic acid has been used as an intermediate for fluorine transfer reactions with hydrogen fluoride to produce fluorinated alcohols.
