Isotheaflavin is a natural product of the lignan family that belongs to the class of phenylpropanoids. Isotheaflavin is an analytical standard for HPLC and has been isolated from a variety of plants including the seeds of Caragana korshinskii, Sophora flavescens, and Carthamus tinctorius. Isotheaflavin has shown bioactive properties in vitro, such as antimicrobial activity against bacteria and yeast, anti-inflammatory effects, and antioxidant activity.
