Informations sur le produit
- Benzonitrile, 2-(phenylmethyl)-
- 2-(Phenylmethyl)benzonitrile
2-Benzylbenzonitrile is an organic compound that is the product of a photochemical reaction when irradiated with light from a mercury lamp. This chemical can be synthesized by dehydrogenation of phenylacetonitrile, followed by deuteration and diphenylmethane. The resulting molecule can undergo intramolecular hydrogen transfer to form an imine, which can then react with anthracene or benzonitrile to produce biphenyl or benzonitrile respectively. 2-Benzylbenzonitrile has been shown to be a good catalyst for Grignard reactions.
