Description

Batatasin III is a natural drug that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to be effective against squamous carcinoma and herpes simplex virus in cell cultures. Batatasin III exerts its anticancer effects by inhibiting the activity of specific enzymes, such as acetylcholinesterase, lipoxygenase, and cyclooxygenase-2. This agent also inhibits angiogenesis and suppresses inflammation by preventing the release of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. Batatasin III has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
