(1R,3S)-3-Aminocyclohexanecarboxylic Acid is an amino acid that participates in the synthesis of proteins and neurotransmitters. It is a β-amino acid that binds to the glutamate receptor and inhibits the uptake of chloride ions. (1R,3S)-3-Aminocyclohexanecarboxylic Acid also binds to thrombin receptors, which are found on the surface of blood platelets. This amino acid has been shown to inhibit serine protease activity and aminotransferase activity.
