3-Chloro-6-hydroxy-2,4-dimethyl-benzaldehyde is a constant, trivalent molecule with proton affinity for metal ions. It has coordination sites that coordinate with metal ions and an ionic nature. 3-Chloro-6-hydroxy-2,4-dimethylbenzaldehyde is an anticoagulant drug that inhibits the coagulation of blood by binding to the active site of the enzyme thrombin.
