Informations sur le produit
1-Bromo-2-methylhexadecane is an aliphatic hydrocarbon that is used in the synthesis of glycolipids. It is a metabolic intermediate and can be found in the culture media of Torulopsis longicatena, which are responsible for the conversion of 1-bromo-2-methylhexadecane to 2,6-dihydroxyoctanoic acid. This transformation occurs through a series of intermediates that include cyanohydrin, hexanediol, and glycerol. The enzymes responsible for this transformation are unknown. 1-Bromo-2-methylhexadecane is also a metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of long chain fatty acids.
