Description

Olopatadine is an antihistamine that is used to treat allergic rhinitis and seasonal allergic conjunctivitis. It is an α-hydroxy acid metabolite of the arylacetic acid group. This drug has been shown to inhibit the metabolism of olopatadine in humans, which may result in reduced potency for this drug. Olopatadine hydrochloride is used as a standard for quantitative analysis by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and can be used as an impurity standard for preparing synthetic olopatadine.
