Methyl 3-[[4-(tert-butylamino)-2-methoxyphenyl]sulfamoyl]thiophene-2-carboxylate is a potent and selective activator of the metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype mGluR5. It has been shown to cause a concentration-dependent activation of mGluR5 in rat brain synaptosomes, with an EC50 of 0.1 μM. Methyl 3-[[4-(tert-butylamino)-2-methoxyphenyl]sulfamoyl]thiophene-2-carboxylate is a valuable research tool for studying the function of mGluR5 and its interactions with other proteins.
