N-Methyl-N-[2-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yloxy)benzyl]amine (TOCP) is a phenoxy compound that has been shown to be an effective antipsychotic in chronic schizophrenia. It was the first phenoxy antipsychotic drug developed. TOCP has been shown to have a number of effects including reducing symptoms of psychosis, inhibiting infectious diseases, and having antioxidant properties. The mechanism by which TOCP works is not clear, but it may be due to its ability to act as a substrate molecule for the phenyl group or its redox potential. This drug also has metabolic effects that are related to insulin resistance and glucose levels. TOCP is metabolized in the liver and kidneys by cytochrome P450 enzymes, mainly CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, and CYP3A4. TOCP can also
