Description :1-(Carboxymethyl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid (1CMC) is a fluorescent compound that can be used in supramolecular chemistry. It has been shown to form coordination complexes with transition metals, such as copper and nickel. 1CMC forms hydrogen bonding interactions with the metal, which causes a change in its fluorescence properties. The complex also has transition metal electrochemiluminescence properties, which are important for applications such as sensing and imaging. The mononuclear 1CMC frameworks have been shown to have magnetic properties and can be used for the synthesis of molecular magnets. The framework can also be used to store hydrogen gas for use in fuel cells.
