Description

Ethyl 3,3-diethoxyacrylate is a polymerizable monomer. It is a colorless liquid with a faint odor. It is soluble in water and has good chemical stability. Ethyl 3,3-diethoxyacrylate can be used as an absorbent for water vapor and other volatile substances. It is used in the production of polymeric films that are applied to the skin to protect against radiation from X-rays and gamma rays. The ethyl group reacts with superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, forming a hydroxyl group that can bind to cervical cancer cells. This product has been shown to have anti-cancer activity by binding to cancer cells through the generation of antibodies that are specific for the tumor antigen epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM).
