Description :
Chloride ionophore I is an ionophore that is a molecule with a high affinity for chloride ions. It can be used as an organic solution for the irreversible oxidation of fatty acids. Chloride ionophore I has been shown to be effective in the immobilization of bacteria and can be used as an agent to extract histidine from muscle tissue. The sensitivity test for chloride ionophore I involves the use of urine samples to detect the presence of chloride ions, which are then oxidized by the agent. This reaction mechanism is irreversible and produces hydrogen chloride gas, which can be detected by pH paper or litmus paper.
