Description :2,3',4,4'-Tetrachlorobiphenyl (2,3',4,4'-TCB) is a polychlorinated biphenyl that is readily absorbed through the skin and lungs. It is used as an industrial chemical in the production of other chemicals. 2,3',4,4'-TCB induces enzymes such as cytochrome P-450 and hydroxylase in animals and humans. The chlorine atom on the ring can be substituted with another atom or group of atoms. The 3-methylcholanthrene metabolite of 2,3',4,4'-TCB has been shown to induce erythrocyte enzyme activity in vivo.
