Description

3,6-Dimethoxy-9H-carbazole is an organic chemical compound that is activated by reduction. It has a redox potential of about −0.24 V for the oxidation of the methoxy groups and about −0.53 V for the reduction of the carbonyl group. 3,6-Dimethoxy-9H-carbazole is soluble in organic solvents such as benzene, chloroform, and dichloromethane. The compound can be used as an acceptor in organic solar cells because it has high values of photophysical properties such as fluorescence lifetimes and diode quantum efficiency values. 3,6-Dimethoxy-9H-carbazole stabilizes its functional groups by forming intra molecular hydrogen bonds with neighboring molecules.
