Description :
1-Benzyloxy-3-iodobenzene is a synthetic intermediate that has low solubility in water. It is an intermediate in the synthesis of glycyrrhizae radix, which is used as a therapeutic agent. This compound also has a benzofuran skeleton and can be used to form prenyl or coumarin derivatives. 1-Benzyloxy-3-iodobenzene can be deprotected to form 3,4-dihydrobenzofuran or 5,6-dihydrobenzofuran.
