9,9-Bis(4-amino-3-methylphenyl)fluorene (BTAPF) is a fullerene derivative that has been shown to be useful in the production of laser light. It is a triplet molecule and can be used as a sensitizer for electron, laser, or photoinduced reactions. 9,9-Bis(4-amino-3-methylphenyl)fluorene has also been shown to efficiently transfer energy from an electron donor to an electron acceptor in cycloaliphatic systems. This efficient energy transfer property makes it an excellent candidate for use in adhesives and sealants.
