2-(Aminomethyl)oxetane is an oxidizing agent, which reacts with halogens and nitrogen compounds to form chloramines or nitroso compounds. It also decomposes in alkaline conditions to form a mixture of oxalic acid and hydroxide. 2-(Aminomethyl)oxetane is used for the synthesis of organic acids, including oxalic acid and malonic acid.
