Its mode of action involves interfering with bacterial cell wall synthesis. Cephradine binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall, inhibiting the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis, which leads to cell lysis and death.
